Psychotherapy

Dr. Kaplan provides psychotherapy to individuals (adolescents, adults, older adults), couples and families struggling with a wide range of emotional, medical and social difficulties. Sessions typically last about 50 minutes and occur weekly, with more or less frequency depending on preference or need. Dr. Kaplan believes strongly that successful outcomes are contingent on an open, honest, and safe therapeutic relationship, and works collaboratively in order to to understand each client’s unique situation, needs and goals. She provides integrative treatment that draws on techniques and theories from multiple modalities, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Meaning Centered Therapy

  • Self-compassion
